Hi! I’m Theo, and I’m an academic coach specializing in test prep and STEM coursework.

I graduated with honors and a 3.9 GPA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College. I worked as a tutor at Harvard Student agencies, working 1-on-1 with students on SAT/ACT prep and academic coursework.

I tutor middle and high school math and science, ISEE/SSAT, and ACT/SAT. I think of tutoring holistically as “academic coaching.” More than just drilling concepts and material, students need to learn how to work through roadblocks, get excited about learning, and set themselves up for success.

More about me

Since college, I’ve had an unusual path to tutoring. I started on a traditional corporate route, working at a Venture Capital firm in New York for 3 years. I wanted a taste of the startup life, moving to LA to join a tech startup as Chief Product Officer. I created a new product and revenue stream within the company and scaled it to over $1M in annual revenue.

After many years of 9-5 work, I decided I wanted to step back and return to education and coaching, which has been a passion of mine since my first time volunteering as an essay tutor in high school.

My approach to tutoring is tailored and student-centric, emphasizing excitement and understanding in learning. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into digestible pieces and fostering a supportive environment that celebrates each student's progress with "wins" to keep them motivated and engaged.

I’ve seen what it takes to succeed at every level - from high school and college admissions to the fast-paced workplace of tech and finance. I strive to use my unique background to empower students, guiding them to achieve their academic goals and discover joy and confidence in their educational journey. I am teaching your kids not only to smash tests and admissions, but also to become lifelong learners.
